There is no doubt that NoSQL has taken off.  But where is it headed and how can we help it get there?

These are the kind of broad questions that Emil Eifrem, CEO of Neo Technology and founder of the Neo4j project, took up in the talk he gave at ApacheCon NA 2011.  Whether you are a newcomer to the discussion about the future of databases or are already knee-deep in NoSQL, you'll find something of interest here.

Just to provide a little more of an overview, here are some of the topics covered in the talk:

  • an overview of the four main types of NoSQL databases (Key-values Stores, Column Family Stores, Document Databses, Graph Databases)
  • what's lacking in NoSQL today
  • what can be done to bring NoSQL into the mainstream

So check out the audio and do your part to get the word out about NoSQL.
