Some of these plugins use various technologies, thus supporting canvas only requiring modern browsers; while others integrate different technologies together to allow it to work on different platforms and older browsers.

Unless I missed something, JavaScript running in the browser still isn't considered a "plugin".
Some of these very well may be plugins for a specific JS lib, such as jQuery, Prototype, etc, but the title is worded incorrectly IMHO.
