In this post we review 10 promising developer platforms for the Web. We're not talking about the obvious ones either, like Facebook, iPhone, OpenSocial or even Twitter. Those have been covered extensively already. The list below features some of our favorite 'lesser known' web developer platforms.

Some good platforms to look at. But it is silly when you see platforms like.. Iceberg: Everyone Can Program. They always miss the boat trying to be all things to all people. They should use a tagline that actually targets the right people. So many startups start off this way, waste so much time, to only realize that they have been unfocused and LESS effective. A great example of this is http://www.ning.com/. They started off as "Anyone can build a web site in minutes", to now a clear focus of "Create your own social network". Very smart, very focused and has been growing ever since they dropped the "anyone can build anything".
