There are a variety of business models you can use to make money off of your Windows Store app or Windows Phone app. The one that’s right for you largely depends on two factors: What kind of app do you have and who is your expected audience? I have experimented with a few business models for my own games and I’ve also done some research on what others do. Below are the strategies I could find along with some comparisons.

You're unlikely to make money selling Windows Phone apps because hardly anyone buys the phones. If you want to make money selling mobile apps, first make iOS and Android apps. Then, if Windows Phones ever become popular, it won't be too difficult to port your app (unless it's a game or something quite complex).
