08 -- Talk to Google about JavaMe
13 -- Java Needs a Standard Parallelism Solution
14 -- Java and Linq
According to D. Taft, Java is not quite good enough for 5,6,8,13,14.
So Oracle must do some work to place Java back on the top.
And it is not going to be easy:
For 8/JavaMe, Android is is not the ultimate platform yet and Google may want to use
C/C++, Python, Go, ... Ruby.
13/Parallelism is difficult for everyone. The first with a good solution will be the king of the desktop.
