Do you think by being a faster typer it makes you more productive as a programmer? This gives a few examples of different source code over the years and how typing style has adapted to cope. What does everyone else think? Are you a one fingered typist? Does it hold you back? Would you hire someone based upon their typing speed?

i would definitely not hire a slow typer as it is an indication of speed of thought and coordination of information and mental processing power. I type above 100wpm as well when coding..

fast typing is pointless when you have tools like CodeRush at your disposal. I do type fast, but it does not contribute to my coding speed. I can use just a few keystrokes and have more code written in less time because I know how to use the tools available at my disposal.

From my experience, a fast typer is not necessarily a good programmer, but a good programmer must be a fast typer.
