This is a terribly researched article. The author makes numerous claims but cites very little evidence to back them up. Something like this would never get published in a journal.

I agree, this article tries to sound authoritative, but is little more than opinion. Even the commenters on the page are calling him on it.

To be fair, the man is basically writing at his own blog and expressing his opinions without any pretense of being in something like a peer-reviewed journal. If we held all blogs to a peer-review standard before items were published, then there would certainly be far fewer blogs around!

Which, actually, seems to me a better thing. Writing technical pieces when you lack the technical knowledge is (at a minimum) a waste of the readers time.

You guys are being to hard on him. It's just a blog entry expressing one man's opinion. I've been a RoR enthusiast for the past two months, learning what I can when I come home from my Java work. He pretty much sums up my points of concern. I hope big things for RoR but I don't see it catching up to Java anytime soon. All in good time I suppose.
