The ACID2 test changed just as the Internet Explorer team posted that IE8 passed the test.

The code check in for the IE8 build that passed the Acid2 test was on Dec 14th, long before the acid2 page broke.

Perhaps do a little research before making ridiculous claims.

So, the answer is that they didn't cheat?

There was no cheating just two snafus and a whole bunch of confusion.

When the guy looked for a difference, the test suite site had a minor snafu - a URL that was supposed to be a 404 status, but it returned '200 OK' instead.

Its rather sad that people would even bother to make these outlandish claims.

People who think that Microsoft would rely on cheating, just to make a blog post are too caught up in the "Microsoft is Evil" club to think clearly.

Microsoft is not evil...You know who is? Google...Wait and see, Google will be hated in a few years.

Of course MS is evil. We have tons of evidence amassed over the years they have been in business to support this assertion. That doesn't mean Google is not evil. We just don't have enough data on them yet.

Microsoft's history speaks for itself... they've been convicted of things worse than cheating.

I'm convinced the average person today is a moron. Everyone wants to believe in conspiracy theories, and refuse to apply even the tiniest bit of brain power in order to realize how stupid said theories are.

Yeah, Microsoft convinced the WaSP group to change Acid2. And tomorrow they'll announce they've managed to develop a chip that allows pigs to fly. WTF?!?

Anyone that voted this up, is just as guilty here.
