YES. It never ceases to amaze me how many people are totally against ORMs for stupid reasons.

Thanks for voting guys. Stan229, you are absolutely right! This article is relevant for Java devs as well. It talks about ORMs in general and how they help programmers.

I think Microsoft provide tools and controls are better rather than the other vendor

Great stuff! I had been confused about a few things regarding ORMs and this article cleared a few things for me. A must read for developers indeed!

Yet another unsubstantial ORM article. In 2009 we already have experience with ORM and its problems, fallacies and pitfalls.
chanon replied ago:
Is that an article? The metric given code lines / objects / tables is irrelevant. In some cases ORM create more issues than they solve. For sure, a good article on this subject should mention all the (at least some and here 5) good reasons for not using an ORM starting by how much time you will loose choosing an ORM then how much weeks to learn the one you picked...

Good article, it may seem very generalized for some but in my view, that was one of the strengths. I know the article wasn't full of metrics but the points served as just that, generalized points that can help lead to deeper investigation - or not.
