Database management systems (DBMS) are 20 years out of date and should be completely rewritten to reflect modern use of computers.

In other news, experts have called for the abandonment of the familiar "QWERTY" keyboard layout in favor of the more efficient Dvorak layout. "It's a well-known fact," says expert Joe Schmoe, "that the QWERTY layout was designed to slow fingers down so as not to jam the early typewriters, while the Dvorak layout is designed for fast and efficient keyboarding." Mr. Schmoe predicts that QWERTY keyboards will disappear from the desktop within 5 years.
