My good buddy Steve Yegge posted quite an article yesterday. It's the transcript of a presentation he gave at Stanford a few days ago, and the overall idea is that dynamically typed languages are on the rise and statically typed languages are on their way out.

Some of the comments on the blog are quite indicative... I really respect Cedric's view on that subject as he actually took time not only learn number of these scripting languages but also uses them quite often.

I don't quite understand why he's even talking about Scala. It's almost like he thinks it's dynamic, but what he says about it doesn't even make any sense.
