Voted down for the use of MS Access as the database. Assuming the user is learning JDBC they have java installed and a quick intro to something like HSQLDB would have been a lot better, IMHO.

i voted down on you, because you suck, but i only because of your comment. grow up and stop worry about stupid details, plus if someone needs access ms access by jdbc they will find out how to do it. jdbc + hsqldb was done like 1000 times.

So, you're 12, right? Maybe 11? Seriously raveman, your reply to me is pretty harsh and badly written. If you are going to bash someone at least form proper sentences.

Looks like it's10 years old. Utterly useless and pointless.
Unless of course 'advanced' actually means 'naive, obsolete and currently discouraged'. Then it's super on-target.

great point, however if the title was "introduction to jdbc" i would not have voted down.

I guess it would be ok if it was labelled "Very basic features of JDBC". I agree on the comment about Access not being the best example of DB out there. Well, indeed it's probably the worst. Other than that, it might be useful for a newbie, although there are much more interesting tutorials on the web about jdbc. For instance, the one from Sun itself:
