IIS didn't have something like that all the time? Wow. They are surely lagging behind. :)

I'm using mod_rewrite all the time. Even for the most simple projects.

A similar module, ISAPI Rewrite, has been available for years, but IIS still doesn't hold a candle to Apache in terms of flexibility.
