And I mean every developer. If you are an entrepreneur and you are hiring a consultant to work on your hot idea you need to do this. It could cost you everything if you don’t.

I have to agree. This guy's fundamental posiiton is fairly smug, so the onus is on him to make sure he's "right" :)

I concur on this, you guys. Yes, it's a terrible mistake that this person made, but I have seen many more egregious errors. I think we'd all like to know how to tell the difference btw good and bad programmers with one question, but the truth is there is no hands down way to tell... while embedded sql is something that most of us wouldn't do, it happens. Believe me, I've been the victim of other people's code many times, its frustrating.
