Did you know that you could filter the DZone RSS feed? I sure didn't. Here's how to do it.

Thanks for the heads up Rick. :-) Considering the number of posts that appear in my DZone RSS feed, I'm sure it will be pretty obvious if/when you decide to change it.

It seems, that adding 'tag' in the url also works fine. For example "http://www.dzone.com/links/feed/frontpage/rss.xml?tag=java" feeds only the java-connected articles.

The "tag" param only seems to work for one category at a time. What I'd really like, personally, is a way to exclude the categories I'm not interested in.

A commenter on my blog noted that he had some success filtering the RSS feed by using Yahoo! Pipes. I'm not sure if that would work for your situation, but it may be worth a try.
