This is a real time ray tracer in ActionScript 3, with source code included. There is also a discussion of the optimizations used to get the framerate from 4 fps to 30 fps.

This is also ported to C++ / OpenGL. The code to compile on OS X is provided, and some one on reddit showed how to compile it for Linux with 1 line of code change.

This is neat. I haven't ever done any ray-tracing... something to look at some day. I like these articles that use unconventional technologies for algorithms.
