A perspective on MacOS Leopard from the IT point of view. Cheers and jeers for Apple's latest operating system. Discusses bugs and fixes to security, X11, the finder and telephony.

I would love to upgrade to Leopard however I use my MacBook Pro at work and feel it would be safer to wait another 3-6 months. I absolutely must have Java and X11 functioning properly. The decreased battery life is concerning as well.

I've upgraded to Leopard all over the place. It doesn't feel as stable as Tiger (not that I would expect it to, being a dot-0 release), but there's some cool stuff in there. Honestly, the best thing about it is that urls no longer get wrapped in messages to mailing lists. That was a big source of consternation to me. Time machine is pretty awesome. The new firewall rules control panel is completely retarded, though.
