Continuing from an earlier post on the history of programming languages, let’s next concentrate on the purpose and history of the languages that support OOP.

Good article, provides tons of information including lots of background info, and candidly points out the problems with some of the OO implementations of current ("an exercise in verbosity" hits the nail on the head).
