Nice article and example code. I like how he describes a real life example showing that an increasing number of nodes did not result in a linear performance increase. I wish the articles from the GridGain site were this good and included more real world data.

I agree, the article is nice. As far as non-linear performance, the author clearly points out that it's due increased contention since many nodes accessing the same file and most likely over network. I think the performance could be improved if initial file was broken into smaller pieces and then every node would get a piece.
