Indeed, many of the articles about attracting women to the field miss the point. Nerds sometimes have trouble meeting women, and the easiest place to meet people (after college) is at work. Therefore, it's not only desirable to attract more women into IT, but specifically, more young single hot women.

Yeah, it strikes me as rather shallow. I thought the original article was badly written though he had some good points. He validly knocked down some straw men, and then went on to put up a few himself. (Though I *don't* think we should be dumbing down classes.)

I'm also the first to admit that geeks are hot. But can we please move beyond the Mrs. Degree 2.0? Yeeesh. I code because I love it. Not because I can pick up hot geeks at the bar.
