Emitrom is happy to announce the release of Titanium4j 3.1! This release brings a lot of exciting news: the project is now hosted on GitHub, and it is the first release to have received contributions from the Open Source community. Ti4j is up to par with the latest stable release of Titanium Mobile 3.1 and it introduces support for TideSDK, all in the same bundle. You'll also find support for UIBinder, an improved event API, and new widgets such as ListView. As always, you can hop on to Emitrom's Google+ community to stay up to date with the latest news. Get Ti4j while it is hot!

Titanium4j applications are full native. Titanium4j generates JavaScript outof Java code that runs inside Titanium Mobile to generate native mobile applications. We ve been using it for approx 8 months. This totally increased our productivity compare to pure JavaScript development.

They are native as much as feasibly possible. What I mean by this is that the Titanium Mobile framework will translate to native as much as it can, so in this regard it is different than PhoneGap. Titanium4j is a Java layer on top of Titanium Mobile / TideSDK. Does that help answer your question?
