Spring Framework is the only thing that keeps me in Java. have you checked lately Spring? with the JPA Data, REST and many goodies, Spring Framework Rocks. Spring always will have an edge than the JavaEE frameworks. even JSF2 it looks old now, Play Framework is a better approach.

Yes, of course. I've used spring since the 2.0.0 days. The better question is, have you seen CDI lately?

Yes I used it with JSF2 and it was a nice project but when I compare to Spring I see the edge, Spring have more new things and goodies, I feel like the JEE standard evolve to slow. I feel for example JSF2 and CDI as ASP.Net WebForms 3.5 but already there is WebForms 4.5 and ASP MVC 4. Spring I see it that evolves more fast and is more modern.
