Mike Swingler, Apple's foremost Java Technology Engineer today announced Apples first official contribution to the OpenJDK project.

A binary build has also been published. It's available at: http://openjdk-osx-build.googlecode.com/files/OpenJDK-OSX-1.7-x86_64-2011011.dmg
