A recent thread on the Grails mailing list sparked an interesting discussion. Some developers have reported that 20%-40% of their development time is spent working around bugs in the Grails framework.

... how about affordable hosting, on par with vanilla plans one can get for php apps. I'd love to do all my projects in Grails or just 'plain' Spring, but I can't justify what it's going to cost to host one of them. That's the biggest bug in Grails for me. I just gave up during my latest project and decided to give cakePHP a try.

tb74342, I feel your pain. If you don't want to host your own, there is always Google App Engine which is free. There is a plugin for Grails supporting it at: http://grails.org/plugin/app-engine
