I'm going to address a rather simple question that I get asked all the time, which is: are multicore processors a fad or are they here to stay? Are multicore processors something we need to pay attention to, and are they going to continue into the future? Well the answer is yes, multicore processors are here to stay, so I'm going to talk a little

He tries to diminish overclocking gains. 13% performance for 73% more power? No one bothers with 13%, it's not even noticeable.
How about 42% more performance on my E6550 @ 3.8GHz? And based on his power formula my PSU would blow up by now, bollocks.

IIRC power consumption increases linearly with clock rate, but quadratic with voltage. So, if you have to use a higher voltage to keep it stable, the energy consumption jumps straight through the roof. That's also the reason why undervolting yields so much.
