Are you the smartest programmer on your team? Do you write overly complex code and laugh when no one else can understand it? You are probably hurting your business more than you are helping it.

There's a fallacy to the argument: the assumption that a smart programmer would "write overly complex code and laugh when no one else can understand it." I say it takes real brains to make things simple. It takes more ingenuity and brains to write code that is easy for other coders to understand and use.
