ARM has released its TrustZone architecture, a platform that creates a trusted execution environment (TEE) where peripheral functions are locked down and secure. The company cites potential applications ranging from the typing of PIN data or passwords all the way up to a full system lockout for nontrusted applications and the traditional OpenOS.
