When you are recruiting, do you look for a particular pattern of previous job durations? As an employee do you have a fixed idea of how long you plan to stay at a particular firm?

Good article by Clinton Forbes. My career philosophy is very similar to what he said in his post; as long as I can learn things (mostly technical) at my current job, I am willing to stay but this is not the only motivating factor that drives me, the work environment has to be relaxed, the people good team mates and friends and also good pay is important, after all it does you no good if you can't keep your mortgage, but you learn new things every day :). Also as a pattern, I think most of the tech geeks think the same way, after all we are driven by our passion for technology, more than anything else, so challenging jobs are cool...
