There is a lot of hype surrounding XML, and a lot of hype surrounding Java. Together these technologies propose to solve many of the most common (and persistent) general computing problems that have been around for the last 20 years. XML and Java are not revolutionary in the approach to solving these problems of interoperability of code and data across and within platform and application boundaries. Rather, XML and Java provide solutions to these problems by using the most successful strategies and techniques that have been honed and refined over the last 20 years of computing.

I can see that this link may be a good resource, however I fail to agree that a 1999 reference to Java and XML create a "fresh link for developers." Good link, but not for dzone.

new developers learn about xml everyday. if the content for the link is useful to a beginner, then from their perspective, it is a 'fresh link for a (new) developer'.

"Fresh" modifies "links", not "developers". Use google if you want to find good resources and howtos.

how is it not 'fresh' for someone if they've never seen it before? what if an article was posted a few yrs ago, and then updated today, would you consider that fresh or stale, given that the content adds value to a reader?
