In an article in the NYT, Catherine L. Mann, a Brandeis University economist proclaims, “[The programming language] C++ is now an international language. If that’s all you know, then you’re competing with people in India or China who will do the work for less.” This is an important development in the software industry, despite the fact that C++ is barely relevant in programming anymore and the fact that the internet has made programming globally accessible for many years.
