If you follow this article, you will get: A real, running chat server and client. To add add HTML5, JavaScript, WebSockets, Node.js, Cloud, and other cool words like that to your CV. A Node.js rough setup that should give you the experience, if you are new to Node.js, to jump right in later for bigger and badder projects. A contrived, yet fun example of what it's like to organize and run some chunks of code on both the client and the server without (much) modification. All of the scaffolding and Kung Fu practice necessary to almost-one-button our code up to the OpenShift platform. Even better, as you'll see, the code here is not locked in, in anyway, to OpenShift, and you're free to use it on your own server or elsewhere.
