echo in a controller? All output should be put into your views! This isn't a good "hello world" example. Apart from that CakePHP is excellent!

No download and install instructions, echo'ing text from the controller. Anyone else sick of Hello, World web app examples? I'd rather see something like a Login example as a hello world app for web app frameworks.

Indeed. The new standard is how quickly you can build a blog engine or wiki. Needs to be 20 minutes or less.
