One thing I find frustrating with PHP is the number of different frameworks and content management systems available. It seems every company, organization and often individual has a preferred framework and often you just have to pick it up as you go along. There will always need to be a selection of frameworks but PHP doesn’t have one key framework. There are many and I won’t to list them all for fear of missing one and insulting somebody! The interesting thing about all these frameworks is that most of the time they don’t have a key feature that makes them stand out. So, in that case, why do they exist?

Only some of them really matter, the rest is just harmless noise.

Choice is only bad if you don't know what you're looking for.

PHP is all wrong, Im not sure why people use it, It is plain garbage. For example see the namespaces feature they added is laughable, The closure feature is just plain wrong and ugly it makes they language terrible messy. All the language is just a mess and lots parts of the internet is driven with this amateur tool, It's hilarious.

This is like saying: "Linux is bad, there are to many distributions to choose from". So, saying that choice is bad is kind of silly. Choice is one of the biggest benefits of Open Source.

Don't share that perspective of the author and fully agree with phpimpact.

I agree with phpimpact and 2think. Also framework != CMS, they are two completely different things. The comment 17 by phifeshaheed hits the nail on the head.
