Recently I was interviewed by Microsoft (for Channel 9) about the MVC versus MVP versus ASP.Net MVC. During the interview I was asked how to decide when to choose a pattern or a framework when building .net applications. I found it a hard question to answer in words (I could only get out a basic explanation), so I want to try to answer it in writing (I am usually better at that)
