ClassNotFoundException occurs, for some classes from rt.jar while compiling from ant.

You realize the class is missing from ct.sym because it's meant to be private! You're compiling against an unstable api (that class happens to not exist in Java 7 for example). I'm guessing you should probably be using ImageIO instead.

i understand your point that we should not use sun's proprietary api as they can change from jdk to jdk , but what about some third party jar which is already using it . in my case it was shopizer's classes using it .
