In a nutshell, Grid Computing is a way to distribute your computations across multiple computers (nodes). However, even JMS does that, but JMS is not a grid computing product - it's a messaging protocol. To correctly classify Grid Computing products we have to split them into 2 categories: Compute Grids and Data Grids.

Despite the constant whining from GigaSpaces side (see comments on original blog) I want to correct Dmitriy on the fact that GigaSpaces (additionally to Coherence and GemStone) does support affinity-based routing. So does the JBoss Cache when used with GridGain together.
My 2 cents,
Nikita Ivanov.

Nikita,
I did not include affinity-based routing for GigaSpaces because I could not find any mentioning of it on their website. It does not look like they have direct support for it (I could be wrong).
Best,
Dmitriy Setrakyan
