This is just wrong. Why do you use imports from jsr166y package !? Instead forkJoin() just use: s1.fork(); result = s2.compute() + s1.join(); cheers jotka www.agilecoders.pl

or, if you insist on using RecursiveAction instead of RecursiveTask, just use invokeAll(s1, s2); instead of forkJoin(s1, s2);
