Simply stated, CryptoPP is the best C++ encryption library out there. For one, its very well written, the class hierarchy is a study in elegance. It provides an extensive set of cryptographic routines. It is cross-platform (runs on Linux/Unix/Mac OS X and Windows). The source is available and is in public domain. You would be hard-pressed to come up with something better.
