A sad day in history of programmers productivity, its time to look beyond Java.

How will this affect programmer's productivity? It should even improve it. Or if you don't want them, just ignore them.

Look beyond Java: why not, for new projects (although it might affect productivity until programmers master the new language...). Hard to do for legacy project. At work we have a project with some millions of lines of code. We progressively integrated picked up features of Java 5 (generics, assertions, some annotations) but I don't see us converting the whole code to Scala!

Every tom dick and harry will be making you code into a new DLL HELL.
