Part 2 of a series of articles that discuss the benefits, drawbacks and consequences of decomposing a monolithic application into a collection of independently deployable and scalable services. This article describes the benefits and drawbacks of using a modular, polyglot architecture consisting of a collection of independently deployable and scalable services. Based on a talk that I gave at Gluecon 2012, on the Cloud Foundry open tour in Europe and at various SpringOne 2012 events.
