Java 8 is path breaking in many ways, one is allowing interfaces to have concrete method. This is known as defender or extension method, because it allows Java designers to add method on existing interfaces without breaking backward comparability. You can define a concrete method inside any interface using default keyword, and that's why it is also known as Default method of JDK 8.
