This is an old entry and for the most part does not reflect the current state of Maven. Ranges are supported and there are many efforts afoot to interoperate with OSGI
i can even pretend to care, i see no problem here except bad code practices.
This is ancient....why is it dzoned?
One alternative is jarjar which allows you to have multiple versions of the same library at once. (with some stuffing around)
