Somewhere along the line "dependency injection" became an end in itself. Like apple pie, sunsets, and more hard drive space it became 'common sense' to see DI as something of which one could never have too much. And, unsurprisingly, this has led to a bit of a backlash against DI. This backlash tends to take the form of, well, YAGNI DI. It's an interesting claim because it's wrong for the right reasons.
