Most of the design patterns in question are simply not needed. If you read the article they even admit it.

Just because something doesnt get done right the first time, doesnt mean you cant fix it. The supposed design pattern of evolving a system by refactoring with patterns is a myth. It never happens. Period.

Nice try, how about a new title? Why the industry has abandoned this ridiculous approach to software design.
