It’s no secret that the mobile industry is a moving target for enterprises. With new devices, operating systems, and complexities added every day, it’s difficult to predict what solutions or services will be needed to keep up with the market pace. In addition, while mobile app adoption was predicted, no one expected it to explode the way it has today. Enterprises are now racing to join the mobile revolution, but are discovering risks in sprinting to the finish line. Let’s take a step back and ask, what is the actual revolution taking place in the mobile industry? Is this only the first of many phases making up the mobile app evolution or has the revolution extended far enough that enterprises recognize the need for higher quality mobile applications? Are companies looking to launch a mobile application just because everyone else has one? Should apps be developed by an outsourced team? Is there a full strategy behind it?
