This article presents the latest performance study conducted by the WSO2 ESB team with the latest release of the WSO2 ESB - 4.6.0. The most significant performance enhancement in this release is making the Passthrough Transport to be the default transport. In this article the performance of a number of leading Open Source ESBs are compared and the improvements to the WSO2 ESB are discussed. The results show that the latest WSO2 ESB performs strongly compared to other Open Source ESBs.
