Introduction to Rvalue References

by Howard E. Hinnant, Bjarne Stroustrup, and Bronek Kozic

Rvalue references is a small technical extension to the C++ language. Rvalue references allow programmers to avoid logically unnecessary copying and to provide perfect forwarding functions. They are primarily meant to aid in the design of higher performance and more robust libraries.

The flawed world of mashups?

A mashup is defined as a combination of existing works, but do you ever find that todays fancy news, media and social networking sites are just a link to other peoples work. Now I am not saying that this is a terrible thing, my homepage is set to dzone's most popular links and I enjoy going to one site and getting a whole bunch of interesting data; However what about webapplication that are just mashups? Have you ever wondered what would happen to those sites if they were no longer allowed to link to that "kewl" new piece of functionality due to legal reasons ? I do.

Task Based Scheduler for Boost.org

have been working on a task based scheduler for about 4 months now, the idea behind the scheduler is to extend the threading capabilities of the current boost framework. The goal is to improve C++ programs that require "daemon" or service style logic which typically has to call the same set of functions multiple times over the life cycle of the applications run time.
