One of the complaint that I have already had with Linux was the whole multimonitor issue and the hacks that I had to go through with the X server and such in order to get the machine to automatically span displays and to come back when it was done. Well Chris DeLashmutt of JBoss just blogged about a method to solve this very annoying problem with the IBM/Lenovo T60 Thinkpad that resolves this problem and makes it easy for people using Linux in marketing environments to not have to screw around with cryptic configs and such.

Thanks for the link, Greg! The script is very rough right now, it does require you to run it as a script when you start up your X Session, but I think it wouldn't be too much more effort to make this script into a service that would also work with other chipset utilities besides aticonfig.
