Indeed, proxy settings are quite annoying. If proxy is not properly set you cannot reach any update site via Help -> Install new software..., even if you set up the right proxy. Fotunately, there is a workaround: Go to Preferences -> Available Software Sites then click on an update site and click Test Connection. After that Installing Software from this site works fine.

The block selection mode - I really liked it in the beginning, but after couple weeks I just noticed that I am not using it... But there are more nice features like toString() generation
