Why use open source when you can write it yourself, in just a year or three?

From some of Sara's other posts it would seem she is a .NET developer which means she's probably complaining about MS/Windows software specifically which doesn't surprise me that she is complaining. But down voted because she talks to generally and doesn't prove any good point.

Wow! I guess the author believes the best programmer is thy-self. Pretty silly to think roll your own is truly the better option. Let's hope car makers don't read this, i don't want to wait 10 years and spend 100,000 on a car that should cost 18,000 and take 3 years to develop. Make sure if your the author's boss fire them before they make your company spend an arm and a leg for code thats already available.

Uhh.. just a second guys. There aren't any girl developers.
